Gold  is  where  you  find  it

  How  carelessly  it  spills

Warm  gold  Winton  wheatfields,

  Sun  gold  Chiltern  hills,

Wattle  gold  the  Warbies

  Where  turquoise  parrots  wing,

The  lovely  river valleys

  Of  the  Ovens  and  the  King.

Sudden  blaze  of  poplars,

  Bright's  burnished  beacon  spires,

Sunset  flame  on  Feathertop,

  Hotham's  frozen  fires.

Amber  promise  of  the  vineyards,

  Pale honey  taste  of  spring,

The  lovely  river  valleys

  Of  the  Ovens  and  the  King.

Shadow  dappled  cattle,

  Sweet  summer  breath  of  hay,

Almond  blossom,  Eldorado,

  Citrus,  Wangandary  way.

Rainbow  shimmered  bushland,

  A  bellbird's  silver  ring.
