Written for my grandchildren,
Katherine Moore, Grade Three, and Steven
Moore, Grade Six, Everton Primary School, 1999.
OUR SCHOOL,
EVERTON.
From the Ovens Valley Highway we can see the mountains rise,
A wedgetail eagle soaring, sketching circles in the skies,
Autumn tinted roadside trees when summer weather's gone,
Happy shouts and laughter from the playground,
Everton.
Chorus
Everton, oh, Everton
You're lucky if you've ever gone
To our school,
Everton.
Here's a caring school, a sharing school,
a place where we can learn
To take delight in knowledge, to give back in return
Respect for our proud heritage, an eagerness to tread
The ever changing future and the challenges ahead.
Chorus
Everton,
at Everton
Where the sun forever shone
On our school, Everton.
Our teachers here have taught us more than Maths and A .B. C.
The value of a job well done,
of trust and honesty,
Memories of our schooldays will live forever on
In lifelong friendships started at our school,
Everton.
Chorus
Everton,
yes, Everton
We'll look back with pleasure on
Our time at Everton.
