TOO  MUCH  --  TOO  BARE !

A  bloke  used  to  call  by  at  the  Blackburn's,   selling  ice-cream  from 

          out  of  his  van,

( Just  don't  mention  that  name  to  him  these  days - he's  a  jibbering 

          wreck,   the  poor  man )

His  friends  tried  to  discover  what  happened - it  took  days  to

          persuade  him  to  talk,

" Gawd!   But  it  was  so  awful! "  -  the  feller's  face  turned  white  as

          chalk-

" The  fire?    No,   it wasn't  all that bad  - I  was  happy  to lend  them a

        hand,

Yeah - and  even  though  Mrs. B.  thumped  me - she  was  upset  and  I

        quite  understand,

She  probably  feels  sorta  embarassed  but  there's  no  need  to  say

          'sorry'  at  all,

It  was  the  horrible  sight  I saw  streaking from  the  kitchen  and  off 

          down  the  hall! " 

We  never  found  out  what  he  saw  on  that  day  in  that  house  way

          out  there  in  the  cane,

Each  time  that  he  tried  to  describe  it,   the  poor  bloke  keeled  over

          again!
