WODONGA ALL OVER
There is movement on the Murray,
the word has passed
around
That Macca, 'Aus. All Over's' on the way,
Homes have been deserted, no-one can be found
They've all gone to Wodonga for the day.
Churches standing empty, services delayed
Congregations playing hookey, un-ashamed
Disgruntled cattle bellow, they've missed their
morning hay,
And Macca is the bloke that's being blamed!
Supermarket's a schemozzle, shopping trolleys have
stampeded
Tossed out all the groceries, brought shoppers to
their knees
Apparently the programme passes messages encoded
From all their crazy cousins trekking here or overseas!
Families disrupted, babies pulled out of their beds
Children eating breakfast in the car
It's like a feeding frenzy once they've got it in
their heads
To say G'day to Macca 'no matter where he are!'
Folk from Chiltern, Baranduda, coming in to take a
gander
Bandiana, Ettamogah, Table Top and Allan's Flat,
Bonegilla, Barnawartha, Walla Walla, Yackandandah,
Joining 'Aus. All Over' for a cuppa and a chat.
There are truckies here, and shearers, and intrepid
caravanners
Choirs that sing like angels, bush poets by the score
Gumleaf players, jam drop makers, apple growers, city
planners
Hand in hand across the airwaves, eastern coast to
western shore.
The many voices of Australia heard on the radio -
Yesterday remembered, tomorrow still unknown
If you want to talk about it there's just one way
to go
Hullo, hullo! Hey, Macca ----- pick up the bloomin'
phone!
